The big news for the 2021 model is the addition of an all-new hybrid variant. The car features a 1.6 liter Atkinson GDI four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a 1.32 kWh lithium-ion battery that is placed under the rear seat. The arrangement gives the car a combined output of up to 139 hp (104 kW / 141 PS) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque.

Sonata 2020 will use a 2.0 Liter gasoline capacity engine with 160 HP with peak torque of 14.4 Lb.ft. The power will be channeled to the two front wheels using a 6-speed automatic transmission.
