Not limited to headsets, keyboards, and mouse, ASUS ROG gaming accessories now keep on growing. The latest from the manufacturer is the news where ASUS ROG lineup has just released a storage product called ROG Strix Arion.
ASUS claims that their product will be the right choice and can be an alternative to perform 2 different functions, in addition to being an SSD cover, it can as well act as an external storage media that is very flexible for gamers to be taken anywhere.
ROG Strix Arion utilizes M.2 NVMe SSD which is a storage technology on PC or Laptop nowadays, it is done to push the performance level. In terms of design, the ROG Strix Arion looks like a very fragile and very risky component plate for mobile storage.
But worry not, ROG Strix Arion can eliminate this disruption by becoming an NVMe SSD cover, in addition to being a cover, ROG Strix Arion has other features such as passive heatsink and integrated thermal pads on the inner surfaces to maintain the temperature stability of the NVMe SSD.
ASUS ROG Strix Arion comes with a body construction made of aluminum material and equipped with thermal pads. Thus, when used for a long period of time the SSD installed will be sure to always stay cool so gamers do not have to worry about overheating which in the end, will have an impact on performance.
The ROG Strix Arion can load various NVMe SSDs for a maximum size of 80mm, the Arion Strix also has MIL-STD-810G 516.6 standards for collisions or when the Strix Arion accidentally falls.
The certification is very important because M.2 NVMe SSD users know that the component they have is quite expensive and data loss due to accidents like this is probable.
Another main feature of the ASUS ROG Strix Arion is that the design is simple and can be used immediately without the need for a screwdriver. So the owners can install SSDs into this case without the hassle.
As for the compatible SSDs, the ROG Strix Arion is compatible with M.2 NVMe Express SSDs with the form factor 2230/2242/2260/2280.
ASUS ROG Strix Arion will also spoil its customers because they don’t need to bother when opening the Arion lid by simply using a pin tool such as the smartphone sim card slot which also directly prevents the opening of this case by accident.
Finally, as an external storage media, Strix Arion also offers premium connectivity thanks to the USB Type-C 3.2 interface which is theoretically capable of transferring speeds of up to 10Gbps depending on the SSD components while the backward compatibility options are also provided through USB-C and USB- cables A.
As a complement, the ROG Strix Arion has also been equipped with R-Hook hooks and ASUS Aura Sync lighting effects where the colors can be adjusted according to gamers’ tastes. Although it has been announced since last month, ASUS has not further expressed the price and the availability of the product.
