A road bike that looks like a road bike, and yet hides inside an electric assistance system that provides up to 40 Nm of torque through three accessible assistance modes with the press of a simple button integrated into the frame.
This is how the Ribble Endurance SL e is presented to the marker, an e-Bike for asphalt with carbon frame and a weight of 11 kilos in its lightest assembly. The Ribble Endurance SLe is an electric road bike with a monocoque frame made of Toray T1000 and T800 carbon fibers.
The chassis, in addition to housing a completely hidden 250W battery inside, is designed to reduce asphalt vibrations thanks to the studied shapes of its tubes, as is the case with high-performance road bikes from many bikemakers.
The highlight of the Ribble Endurance SL e is that it has an integrated engine in the rear hub, totally unnoticed, achieving an aesthetic very similar to that of a conventional bicycle.
This system consists of a motor coupled to the wheel axle instead of the bottom bracket to eliminate any type of resistance when not working, a battery perfectly integrated into the frame and a control unit also integrated with the upper tube.
At less than 25km / h, the rider can activate the engine, which ranges from 250 watts to 750, simply by pressing a button located on the upper tube of the frame, next to the power.
There are three different modes: the button turns on and provides proportional help. Green, orange or red indicates the rising level of power provided by the electric motor. All of those embedded in a frame made of monocoque mold.
Whichever assembly the rider picked, the Ribble Endurance SL e includes hydraulic disc brakes. In addition, it can be connected to the mobile via Bluetooth to analyze many variables of use in an application of the bike.
The Endurance SLe of Ribble Cycles is available in five sizes (XS, S, M, L, and XL) and four assemblies focused on offering maximum performance on the road, all with user-customizable components at the time of the purchase.
The range consists of the Endurance SL e with Shimano 105 group that is the most basic one that comes with a price tag of € 3,365. The SRAM Red eTap group is the highest echelon that comes with a € 5,834 price tag. Between them, you can ride with Shimano Ultegra for € 3,814 and with Ultegra Di2 for € 4,487. Of course, there is the option to design your own and customize it from € 3,500.
