Renault Alpine A110 is a lightweight sports car that was first produced in 2017. A motorized sports car was being made to continue the glory of the first generation Alpine A110 which was quite iconic in the ’60s and the ’70s.
But some time ago, the French manufacturer introduced the Alpine A110 SportsX which combines the concept of a modern lightweight sports car but has long clearance just like a rally car.
Alpine A110 SportsX Concept was introduced to commemorate the success of Alpine A110 at the rally event in the early 70s. At that time, the Alpine A110, driven by legendary Swedish racer, Ove Andersson, won the prestigious series of the Monte Carlo rally in 1971.
Thus, it is fitting that the A110 SportsX display also feels a retro aura from the Alpine A110 Rally Car which is quite dominating. Alpine makes the A110 SportsX by using the platform from the A110 Pure variant, which is the entry-level variant of the latest generation A110.
The concept of this car uses a rigid body kit, underbody protection, and adopted tires from Michelin. Renault Alpine A110 SportsX also looks dashing in two-tone colors with a combination of black and white
The Alpine A110 SportsX is super light in weight, which is around 1,098 kg. But on the legs, the A110 SportsX uses a lift kit that can increase ground clearance up to 60 mm. Besides, the fender is also made wider to reach 80 mm. It is also an anticipatory step to be able to use tires with a larger size.
Other alterations found on the car are additional airlines, black cover headlights, and the bumper that comes with a fresher design. The exterior is getting sportier thanks to the sweep of two colors and the addition of several rally car accessories.
The Renault Alpine A110 SportsX is equipped with rear-wheel drive (RWD) while as a power source, it still uses a 1,800cc 4-cylinder engine with a built-in turbo from Alpine A110 Pure.
The compact engine is claimed to be able to produce power of 250 hp and 320 Nm of torque which is channeled through a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Because of its lightweight, the Alpine A110 SportsX can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed reaching 250 km/h.
Unfortunately, the A110 SportsX is not available in the market as Renault still has not provided information on whether their brand-new car will go into the production line or stuck in the realm of concepts.
