The British HiFi manufacturer Naim Audio has presented a headphone-optimized version of its multi-award-winning Uniti Atom all-in-one player, the Uniti Atom Headphone Edition.
Technology
Unlike traditional headphone amplifiers and DACs that require a separate computer or streaming device, the Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition is a fully engineered music streaming system. The Uniti Atom streaming amplifier has been completely redesigned by Naim to offer headphones the best possible personal listening experience.
Using trickle-down technology from its flagship amplifier, Naim has developed a new discrete amplifier that can easily power even the highest quality headphones.
The unique music streaming platform from Naim offers unbelievable sound quality and enables the user to enter their own digital music collection with streaming services such as Qobuz, TIDAL, and Spotify as well as the world of Internet radio and podcasts.
Many other sources can be connected with analog and digital inputs – including turntables – and a USB input supports playback via USB sticks or drives. A large selection of music file formats with resolutions of up to 32 bit / 384 kHz can be experienced.
In addition, the Uniti Atom Headphone Edition features a completely new transformer design that – true Naim tradition – provides the best power supply for the headphone amplifier circuit.
The new design of the discrete transistor circuit enables the Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition to achieve balanced headphone outputs on both 4-pin XLR and Pentaconn, thus maximizing the performance of high-end headphones with these connections.
Price and Availability
The Naim Uniti Atom Headphone Edition is now available in stores at a recommended retail price of € 2,899. It should be noted that the price is the same as the standard version of the Naim Uniti Atom all-in-one player.
