H. Moser & Cie. start 2020 with a product that will leave no one indifferent! A new line, a new box, a new bracelet with integrated a new movement, a new dial, and new hands. Everything is new, everything is different and everything is Moser.
The brand plays the card of singularity and not of imitation, it reinvents the rules to better sublimate them. Fluid lines, geometric curves, dynamic forms, play on contrasts and textures: H. Moser & Cie. establishes minimalism as the common thread and gives life to the first integrated automatic chronograph with a central display offering the flyback function. Called Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic, the watch has a real personality, a decidedly different aesthetic and yet totally Moser.
It has been more than five years since H. Moser & Cie. undertook this development, with the aim of creating a new family of products, something new. The starting point was to design a model with a steel case on an integrated bracelet. Quickly, the notion of fluidity, continuous lines, flexibility becomes obvious.
The name of this range is obvious: it will be Streamliner, like the first high-speed trains of the years 20-30 whose curves it reinterprets, all in roundness. An essential characteristic of the identity of H. Moser & Cie., Minimalism is the note that sets the tone for the entire creative process, both for the dressing of the Streamliner model and for its movement and functions.
The Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic is a form watch, with a steel cushion case with a diameter of 42.3 mm. With its dynamic 12 ATM water resistance, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic enables the underwater chronograph function.
Its off-centered crown, adorned with an “M”, balances the two chronograph pushers located at 10 am and 2 pm. Designed as a real sculpture, this case has harmonious proportions and good aerodynamics. It is surmounted by a subtly curved sapphire glass, like the Glassbox, to which the transparent case-back responds.
Extending these curves, an integrated steel bracelet, gently curved, follows the wrist line, whose shapes, even that of the smallest wrists, it thanks to its unique link design. Extremely complex in design, the bracelet has very fluid lines on organic shapes.
The bezel offers a sun-brushed finish; there is an alternation of polished and brushed surfaces on the box, which has hollowed and satin-like shapes on the sides, reminiscent of the traditional left shapes typical of Moser cases.
On the movement side, the Streamliner is the first automatic chronograph with a central display equipped with the flyback function on the minute and the second. It is equipped with one of the best chronograph calibers designed to date according to many watchmaking experts.
The new caliber was developed by AGENHOR with the support of the teams of H. Moser & Cie. with a philosophy very similar to that of the famous perpetual calendar by H. Moser & Cie. which has helped to establish the reputation of the manufacturer.
With two Chrono hands for the minutes and seconds and two hands for the hours and minutes for the time display, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic is all about sobriety.
For the dial of the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic, H. Moser & Cie. has revisited its smoked dial, the brand’s signature element. In a new anthracite gray, the dial is not only smoked but also scratched vertically.
At the periphery, white and red, the outdoor timer measures the seconds while the indoor timer counts the minutes. At noon, the number 60 dominates, evoking the stopwatches of the 60s and 70s, when readability and functionality prevailed.
Constantly favoring readability, H. Moser & Cie. has chosen red for the second hand, while the minute hand is rhodium-plated. To indicate the hours and minutes, H. Moser & Cie. chose curved three-dimensional needles, in two parts, fitted with blocks of Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material containing Superluminova® which had never been used on needles until now.
The culmination of hard work, the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic is a link between the past and the future as the new model marks the beginning of a new era for H. Moser & Cie. There will only be 100 of Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic and each one will be valued at € 38,000 ($41,893)
