The compact rugged camera market is indeed not as busy as before, especially with the increasing popularity of action cam in recent years. But that does not prevent the camera manufacturer from producing it, because there is still more value in this product compared to the action cam.
One of them is a zoom lens, as we can see from the latest Fujifilm product. From the appearance, it can be seen that the camera dubbed FinePix XP140 is designed to be the perfect companion for traveling, no matter what the environmental conditions are.
The sensor is not too special though, 1 / 2.3-inch CMOS resolution of 16.4 megapixels with a maximum ISO of 12800, but that’s actually enough in this class.
According to Fujifilm, FinePix XP140 is able to survive despite falling from a height of 1.8 meters. A cold temperature of up to –10º C and ready to take on the dive to a depth of 25 meters without needing to be wrapped in an additional case.
All are packaged in relatively compact dimensions: 110 x 71 x 28 mm, weighing 207 grams including a battery and SD card.
The hardiness of the body is one of the advantages over the action cam, but FinePix XP140 can actually be a more ideal alternative if the users need optical zoom up to 5x, with an aperture range of f/ 3.9 – f / 4.9.
As for the video recording section, this camera can record in 4K resolution, but only on 15 fps, so it would be wise to choose the 1080p with 60 fps option as the default. The users can also use up to 4x slow-motion modes, but only in HD resolution.
Modern features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 have become standard on XP140. Fujifilm FinePix XP140 will be marketed from late April. As for the price, the Japanese camera maker tagged their latest product at $ 229 which available in five casts: blue, green, yellow, gray and white.
