The number of people who want to use the iPhone camera is likely to increase and it’s just logical for the accessories market to follow the trend. And that is just what the Scandinavian startup is planning with Fjorden.
Concept Design
The Fjorden is not only easy to hold in the horizontal position, but it is also a camera grip that brings high-end point-and-shoot and mirrorless operability to the iPhone.
The thickness when the grip is attached to the iPhone 12 Pro is 21 mm, which is the pocket size itself. The grip is removable and can be used as a stand. In addition, it can be easily removed and the case part is MagSafe compatible.
Features
The accessories have four controllers: a shutter button (half-press to focus), a customizable control dial for exposure, ISO, aperture, manual focus, a multifunction button for switching modes and flashes, and a zoom lever.
By using the dedicated app Fjorden Camera, users can shoot with their iPhone using the Fjorden controller to the full. In addition, this app allows the user to freely change menu items, so they can concentrate on taking quick pictures by arranging only the functions they need.
Plus, a Moment’s M-Series lenses conversion lens can be attached to the case to increase the capability of the camera.
Price and Availability
Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, the Fjorden are planning a case for the iPhone 11 series and 12 series, but it will arrive around February 2022 for the price of €119 which is cheaper than the retail price of €159.
If the potential backer can’t go back because they’ve bought a new iPhone, don’t worry, the startup will let their backer choose which model the case to use just before the shipment starts.
What’s surprising is that Fjorden also comes with a 2-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. What’s there to lose?!
