Last year, Coros became the company to watch in the fitness smartwatch market thanks to their first smartwatch smart performance, Pace. and it’s follow-up product, Apex which devoted to training. The status of his newcomer does not stop the California company from jumping head to a new category with a watch that pushes the boundary.
Called Vertix, the third and most challenging smartwatch of Coros is a giant that targets an adventure seeker looking for a wristwatch and more.
Coros is pushing Vertix for the explorers and equip the watch with pulse oximeter for monitoring 24/7 height acclimatization and impressive battery performance even at extreme temperatures.
There are three buttons and a digital crown to move through the menu system on the watch. Vertix collects detailed training metrics and analyzes your performance to help keep you fit. It is full of sensors like heart rate monitors, compasses, and barometric altimeters for accurate precision reading.
Not many watches, if any, can claim to last for 21 hours in GPS mode at -22 degrees Fahrenheit, but Coros Vertix does. For those who maintain a moderate temperature, Vertix promises to deliver 45 days of amazing battery life under normal use.
For ultra athletes, the watch offers 60 hours in regular GPS and stunning 150 hours using ultra-low power UltraMax GPS modes. No matter how it does, the ability to record more than six days of continuous tracking is blowing up the mind.
That’s longer than other adventure watches on the market. And if that’s not enough, you can also leave your map inside your bag as wristwatch-based navigation.
Vertix is compact watch inside and outside. It will stand for rugged treks in the interior thanks to durable titanium frames and bezel. And the touch screen is coated with scratch-resistant glass to avoid accidental scratch. When it rains (and it will), the watch is waterproof up to 150 meters so you do not have to worry about getting it wet.
The Coros Vertix is priced at $699.99 and is available in four colors, including Ice Breaker, Dark Rock, Fire Dragon, and Mountain Hunter.
