The number of smartphones that are not equipped with a 3.5 mm audio port creates a chance for headphone manufacturers to release wireless headphones. One of them is Bowers & Wilkins, which released the latest line of wireless headphones with Qualcomm technology.
Qualcomm technology in question is the system on a chip (SoC) Qualcomm QCC5100 Bluetooth Audio low-power with aptX Adaptive technology. This technology is claimed to produce audio with low latency and high resolution.
Bowers & Wilkins PX7 is a successor to Bowers & Wilkins PX which is the first wireless headphone of Bowers & Wilkins with an active noise protection.
The Active Noise Canceling (ANC) on this headphone is claimed to be able to send 16 times the sampling rate for best performance without reducing the sound quality.
The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 are over-ear headphones which are the flagship product of Bowers & Wilkins. These headphones have sensors in both ear cushions that make it able to turn off the music when the headphones are not attached to the ear.
In the design department, the PX7 still maintains a classic over-ear headphone model but with a fresh new design. Its weight is also lighter thanks to the use of carbon fiber composite material. Other new updates can then be seen in the driver where The PX7 now comes with a 43mm driver replacing the 40mm driver on the PX.
The durability of the headphone is also got more durable. The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 can be used for up to around 25 hours with an active noise protection feature. The duration got even more durable compared to its predecessor by 3 hours.
The battery also supports the fast charging feature via a USB Type-C port. With 15 minutes of recharging time, the battery of the Bowes & Wilkins can be used up to about 5 hours. The port for charging purposes are connected through USB-C.
As we mentioned before, the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 that comes with aptX Adaptive Bluetooth can spoil the ears of audiophiles by offering 24Bit 48kHz resolution audio streaming capability via a Bluetooth connection. The price tag of $399.99 will then increase the positive point of this superb headphone.
