BAC, famous for its Mono, has launched the latest version of its single-seater car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The newest car is called Mono R, and it is a second-generation version that is lighter, stronger than the previous car.
On the sidelines of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, BAC Mono R scored the most worthy appearance. The radical declination for single-seater still promises the sensation of cars on the streets, but also the beautiful access since it is adaptive on the streets.
In a moment of vigorous transition, the emergence of Briggs Automotive Company (BAC), a small British manufacturer, offered a breath of fresh air to car enthusiasts.
In terms of style, BAC Mono R, whose structure consists of magnesium and its body of carbon fiber, looks perfect in every way. The Aerodynamics and the search for weight reduction have guided the engineers of BAC to design this engine.
The results are astonishing. From lateral air intake to reactor design to false shocks, through a minimalist rear that shows everything, the BAC Mono R is an invitation to drive on the circuit, mainly because the braking system is carbon-ceramic.
With a very low weight, which is 555 kilos, this single-seater is powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder developed by Mountune. It’s got 345 horsepower (340 HP), and especially detailed on the weight/power ratio that represents the best number to present Bac Mono R which is 1.6 kg/hp. On the performance side, 0 to 100 km/hour is achieved in 2.5 seconds.
This extra power is achieved by increasing the cylinder hole size and reducing the new billet crankshaft stroke to optimize the delivery of power and torque and increase the rpm from 7,800 rpm to 8,800 rpm. More air is also put into the engine through the air intakes in the style of a Formula 1 car on the rollover structure, which in turn helps this increase.
The success didn’t come just like that since Mono R development has been going on for years, with thousands of research and work. The company through Director of Design, Ian Briggs claims that they have found the perfect formula for creating the most extreme Mono in history.
BAC Mono R is a limited edition with 30 cars available for grab. The price of this single-seater is around $240,000.
