It’s not an exaggeration to say that Audio-Technica is a brand that is very serious in producing each of their audio products. In the Consumer Electronic Show 2020 (CES 2020) performance in Las Vegas, the company once again shows their sincerity and passion with the release of Audio-Technica ATH-ANC300TW.
The Japanese company showcased a wireless earphone called QuietPoint ATH-ANC300TW. Taking a closer look at the name and it can be guessed that the brand-new earphones have an active noise quenching technology or what famously called Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
The ATH-ANC300TW is not the first true wireless earphone from the Audio-Technica, but it is the first to pack active noise canceling (ANC), complete with a transparent mode to allow outside noise to enter. The level of the ANC feature can be set thanks to the three preset options available in the companion application.
Audio-Technica claims that the ANC features on the latest ATH-ANC300TW were specifically designed according to the design of wireless earphones. ANC functions by analyzing the ambient noise with an internal microphone, making sound waves reversed from the detected noise and mixing it with the audio signal from the product.
Audio-Technica ATH-ANC300TW positions one of the microphones with a unique horizontal orientation inside the sound chamber. The company claims that the configuration allows for an ideal balance between ANC performance and audio performance.
Technically, the in-ear headphones pack a 5.8 mm driver, but what’s more interesting is the Qualcomm’s TrueWireless Stereo Plus feature. Thanks to this feature, audio can be forwarded to both earpiece units at once, not just to one that acts as an intermediary.
In terms of batteries, the Audio-Technica QuietPoint ATH-ANC300TW is reported to be able to last up to 4.5 hours before the next recharge process. While the charging case is ready to supply 13.5 hours of extra juice.
Audio-Technica has extensive experience in making the best studio headphones and wired in-ear monitors, but it is still quite unproven in the wireless earphone market. The QuietPoint ATH-ANC300TW will be available in May for $ 249.
