The German manufacturer from Ingolstadt continues to expand its range of electric vehicles for global consumers. This time, the carmaker is introducing the All-New Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron.
Design
Packed with dimensions of 4.59 meters in length and 2.76 meters of wheel distance, the latest electric car from Audi looks huge. However, it turns out that aerodynamics are very seriously processed.
As for the Q4 e-tron, it has 0.28 drag coefficient, while the Sportback version reaches 0.26 drag coefficient.
Highlights on the road, the All-New Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron use Matrix LED. The luminescence is more comprehensive and does not interfere with the view of other cars in front.
Inside the cockpit, the driver will be given various digital information via a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. As for the MMI, the potential owner can get a touch screen measuring 10.1 inches or an option of 11.6 inches which will be available later this year.
The Augmented Reality head-up display glows in front of the driver as if floating, making navigation guidance easier. Voice commands can also be enabled to operate various features.
Last but not least, the Q4 e-Tron model can provide 520 liters to 1,490 liters of space. At the same time, the Q4 Sportback e-tron, 535 liters to 1,460 liters are available.
Powertrain
Audi chose two electric that are relied on to drive four wheels that can accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 6.2 seconds. For safety’s procedure, the top speed is limited to 180 kph.
The front-wheel-drive electric motor will go into action when great power or a firm grip is required. Of course, the mechanism is targeted to reduce the use of battery energy.
Recharging the batteries of the two latest Audi electric cars can be done differently using Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC).
The compact battery can be injected with 7.2 kW AC charging and 100 kW when using HPC (High Power Charging) charging with DC.
As for the standard, a larger battery allows the use of 11 kW AC or 125 kW DC. If the owner can rely on 125 kW fast charging, they will just need to wait for 10 minutes.
Price and Availability
Interestingly, the two models Q4 e-tron are offered in many types ranging from Sport, S line, Edition 1, and Vorsprung. The electric car will go on sale in Germany from June with a price tag starting from € 41,900.
