The French sports car manufacturer whose name is closely related to Renault, Alpine is preparing to market their latest car called Alpine A110S. Its presence complements the existing variants, A110 Pura and A110 Legende. As the top of the line-up model, the A110S is the light-weight ferocious coupe.
The details of the car are immensely telling that this sports car is trying to establish their dominance through every single detail of the design. The dimensions of the car are 4,180 x 1,798 x 1,248 mm (LxWxT).
The wheel axis span is 2,419 mm plus its only weight 1,114 kg. The minimalist weight is achieved thanks to the use of carbon fiber in several parts such as pillars. The consumers can choose the version with a matte finish and a roof made of carbon fiber as optional.
Moving on to the mechanical heart of the Alpine A110S which has 4 cylinder specifications. The volume precisely stays on the 1.8-liter turbocharged but the power is quite fierce as the car can spit around 292 HP that moves at 6,400 rpm and 320 Nm.
The thrust energy is channeled to the wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission system. The system allows the A110S to accelerate from position 0 to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 260 km/hr.
Various enhancements to control the car better are given such as the use of an electronic differential at the rear wheels to maximize traction. Then the ground clearance is lower than 4 mm, to optimize the center of gravity. Then per set is more rigid 20 percent and the roll bar is made more solid.
Tires are chosen specifically to be able to keep up with the performance of the Alpine 110S. Michelin Pilot Sport with special compound measuring 215/40 (front) and 245/40 (rear) rim measuring 18 inches. The wheel frame, called the GT Race, also has an aggressive pattern.
The interior of the 110S is clad in Dinamica black suede leather with orange stitch accents spread across all types. The sporty impression really embodied the latest Alpine. Carbon fiber and orange emblems are also seen inside. This is then combined with a semi-bucket Sabelt seat weighing 13.1 kg. The multimedia system is also maximized with devices from Focal.
Last, the electronic program stability control is getting the new update, especially for the track mode. Interestingly the features that ensure the stability of this handling, can be completely turned off to provide the real driving pleasure.
At least for now, the Alpine A110S sports car is only marketed in Europe. The carmaker stated that their latest product is going to be available at the Renault and Alpine dealerships in October with prices tag starting at $ 74,971.
