Japanese luxury car manufacturer, Lexus recently launched the 2022 GX 460 which will be the first lineup to get the Black Line Edition variant.
Design
In terms of appearance, the Lexus GX 460 Black Line Special Edition will adopt the exclusive Nori Green color. In addition to that, the luxury SUV will be available in several colors, Starfire Pearl & Black Onyx.
This designation will go to the GX price list for the first time and, as in other Lexus, it means expressive style and equipment from the top shelf. What can be seen at first glance are the stylistic details characteristic of the Black Line version.
Finished in black varnish, the grill harmonizes with 18-inch wheels in the same color. The roof rails have also been darkened, and the accents developed for the needs of the special version can also be found on the front and rear bumpers.
The latter varnish looks phenomenal, changes its shade depending on how the light falls on it, and is reserved exclusively for the special edition in question.
Specs
Although the manufacturer has updated the exterior, the interior is arguably outdated compared to its rivals because the base of this car is the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150. But still, the Lexus GX 460 2022 is equipped with the latest instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The IP stack screen and 10.3-inch infotainment screen already have Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa connections (only for 4WD variants). With the new screen, Lexus also improves the layout of the ventilation to the bottom screen and separates it from the car’s control system.
On the performance, the prestigious SUV relies on a V8 unit, 4,600 cc, which is capable of producing power up to 301 hp with 446 Nm of torque. The power is channeled to the rear wheels or all wheels (4WD) with 8-speed automatic transmission.
Price and Availability
Reportedly, the Lexus GX 460 Black Line Special Edition will be the last automobile of the second generation. In 2024, the third generation Lexus GX will use the new GA-F platform with a V6 turbo hybrid engine. Most likely, the third generation of Lexus GX will pack the same engine as the Toyota Land Cruiser 300.
The 2022 Lexus GX 460 comes in two variants RXL and Black Line but unfortunately, the manufacturer didn’t mention the price range of the luxurious SUV in its press release.
