In 2017, Zapp Scooter was founded, a British startup, which launched its first scooter in 2019, the i300 Carbon, and won some design awards.
Design
The Zapp i300 Carbon only weighs 90 kilograms. This is made possible by an exoskeleton that is combined with a composite material that is not described in detail. In contrast to normal plastic, all materials are claimed to be completely recyclable with the help of a Z-shaped aluminum frame.
The exoskeleton structure on the Zapp i300 Carbon also gives the scooter’s distinctive design while technology covers the instrument panel that is digitally colored.
Specs
Equipped with a permanent air-cooled electric motor, Zapp i300 Carbon produces 24 hp of power and 85 Nm of torque, with an electronically controlled top speed of 96 km/h. The scooter packed two lithium and standard 72 V batteries, each having a capacity of 720 Wh, have an approximate range of 90 km.
The transmission is made to the wheels by a carbon fiber belt. The Zapp i300 Carbon has 3 driving modes, 100mm stroke inverted front suspension and 70mm stroke preset rear suspension.
The brakes are disc brakes, the front 250 mm with 4-piston caliper and the 220 mm rear with two-piston caliper.
