GMC has unveiled a new version for the popular Canyon. Following the steps initiated by its predecessor the Sierra, but this time, the 2021 Canyon AT4 is a particular model that oriented towards off-roading.
Aesthetically, the improvements are astonishing. The new layout of the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 got a new radiator grille as the refreshment of the Canyon for 2021. GMC also adds LED spotlights with a vertical configuration.
What lifted the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 apart from its competitor are the smoked chrome tabs in the grille, the red-painted hooks, and the AT4 badges on the bodywork. The 17-inch rims are unique, as are the 31-inch Goodyear tires.
The additional protection plates are placed safely under the vehicle. In terms of technical additions, the suspensions are revisited. To optimize harder driving, it comes with the Eaton G80 rear differential lock as well as the Advance Hill Descent Control System.
Under the hood, there are two engines available, either the 3.6-liter V6 with 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque or the 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder 2.8-liter 181 hp engine. and 369 lb-ft. In all cases, they are combined with 8-speed automatic transmission for the V6 against 6 for the Duramax.
Regarding the presentation of the cabin, GM didn’t play on too much and follow the norm by providing the typical modern dashboard with the head unit and multimedia access. But still, the interior is wrapped with premium leather and lots of smart features.
GMC has not disclosed its prices, but several internet leaks claim that the 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 will be marketed starting at $ 36,600. Those who wanted it with the diesel engine had to add another 3,980 dollars. The vehicle will arrive during the year without giving a precise date.
