KIA took the center stage and presented four new futuristic cars in Paris Motor Show and one of them is the first KIA e-Niro electric car which further strengthens KIA Motors’ position by making the European premiere at the exhibition.
The South Korean carmaker claims that the New KIA e-Niro combines the practicality of a crossover with zero driving emissions plus driving pleasure, attractive design and versatile functions of a crossover.
Revealed in European specifications for the first time, e-Niro has been designed to break down barriers of electric cars by offering long-distance driving, smarter packaging, and greater practicality than many other electric vehicles.
The new Kia e-Niro is the first electric crossover utility vehicle produced by Kia, providing a zero-emission driving range of up to 453 kilometers (282 miles) on a single charge from a 64 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack.
According to the official statement of KIA Motors, all of the technical and performance data are expected targets, awaiting further development and homologation. The standard driving range is calculated using the World Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) where all numbers can change.
Inside the Kia e-Niro, the cabin combines modern design with low-cost space and technology that complements zero-emission power train.
The prospective customer will also benefit from a variety of in-vehicle vehicle technology to maximize reach and efficiency, as well as new safety features.
Space is an extravagance in the New Kia e-Niro, where the electric car can pack up to 451 liters of payload which is more than most electric vehicles in the back. With the rear seats folded, space got even higher at 1,405 liters.
To help maximize its reach, the New Kia e-Niro is equipped with regenerative braking and Coasting Guide Control (CGC) and Predictive Energy Control (PEC) as a reminder of the level of power that is still stored in the battery.
The new Kia e-Niro is already available in certain European markets by the end of 2018. The carmaker is also offering every e-Niro a 7-year, 160,000-kilometer warranty that also covers batteries and electric motors.
