Porsche is identical to the German premium sports car. But recently, the German carmaker teamed up with Lucasfilm to build a “fantasy spaceship design” they called the Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter. The task was accomplished in two months.
Pegasus Starfighter is a specifically designed product by Porsche for the film Star Wars. The ship was developed by Porsche designers at Weissach and artists from the Lucasfilm studio in San Francisco.
Pegasus Starfighter has headlights and air curtains that mimic the appearance of Taycan. The style inspired by Porsche continues to the rear with the main body having louvers and an integrated third brake light reminiscent of the Porsche 911. The ship also has a taillight blade inspired by several different Porsche models.

The final design of the ship is not very similar to the Porsche, but the company claims that all elements on the exterior have clear functions and most of the pure visual features have been removed. Porsche said the Pegasus Starfighter follows the basic principles that are the main characteristic of the carmaker.
The cockpit comes with a three-seat layout. While the open canopy is similar to a fighter jet, the instrument panel is parallel to the steering wheel. Right behind the cockpit is a slot for Astro droid that acts as an automatic mechanic on a starship.
Michael Mauer extensively said that the basic shape of the cabin that tapers backward, and the topography is very different from the cockpit flying line to the turbine forming a visual parallel with the iconic design of the 911 and Taycan.
Porsche product designers even go to the length and made basic specifications of having four engines and a capacity of five passengers. And surely the design of the ship follows the space vehicle display pattern from the previous Star Wars film edition series.
Pegasus Starfighter was created to help promote Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The film was officially screened in theaters throughout the world at the end of 2019.
