Lexus is making the world debut for the LF-30 Electrified Concept at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show (TMS). The brand-new concept is in line with Lexus Electrified’s vision to provide an innovative and extraordinary experience.
The Lexus Electrified Vision launched at TMS 2019 targets a fundamental leap in vehicle performance, handling, control, and driver enjoyment, even as current mobility continues to change by autonomous driving and vehicle electrification.
In general, the figure of the Lexus LF-30 Concept is a crossover, where the ground distance of the car is quite low but has a high roof and gullwing door models. The exterior design of this car looks attractive, with sharp corners throughout the body designed to Lexus’s iconic thick spindle grind design.
On the front side, the Lexus LF-30 Concept has super sleek lights and a bumper that is very futuristic and big. Moving to the side, the wheels used are very large with attractive designs and super-thin tire profiles.
There are only two doors, but there are 4 seats ready to carry passengers. Moving on to the backside, the rear lights are very extreme and eccentric, typical of Lexus. Being pulled behind the body like a cone on the top side.
Furthermore, the front glass design extends to the rear seat, and passengers can adjust the translucency from the rear window to allow privacy as desired by the passenger.
Inside the cabin, the wheel is designed futuristic, to signify the close relationship between the car and the driver. The cabin is designed to pamper passengers, who will be able to lie back in the back seat and use gesture-based controls to manage entertainment settings without having to press a button.
In addition to the astonishing design language, the electric motor used in the Lexus LF-30 Concept is also interesting. This car uses in-wheel electric motors which means that each axle is connected to one electric motor.
The LF-30 concept comes with autonomous drive technology, and the powertrain comes from four electric motors using a large 110-kWh battery with a range of up to 500 kilometers with combined power reaching 536 horsepower. The use of this kind of electric motor does not only increase the power but also increase the control of the car.
A large battery is located under the floor of the vehicle with wireless charging capability. In keeping with the green theme, Lexus said that the LF-30 has sustainable material features including traditional Japanese cedar wood accents and fabrics made from recycled fibers.
In addition to all of those impressive features, the traction and driving modes of the Lexus LF-30 Concept is also very diverse. The concept car can handle RWD, AWD and FWD mode.
Another very interesting point from the Lexus LF-30 Concept is the presence of a wireless charging system in this car. But not to charge your gadget, but to charge the car’s battery.
The attractive design of the Lexus LF-30 Concept itself was created because the electric motor used in this car is quite compact. As a result, Lexus designers can get on as many ideas as possible with this car.
Lexus said that the LF-30 Concept car was designed to wait out at least until 2030 when Lexus plans for most of its lineup it sells to be electrified.
