Not limited to cars manufacturer, motorcycle manufacturers also took part in the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Kawasaki became one of the two-wheeled manufacturers who participated in the biennial automotive exhibition and the company comes with a lot in their bag.
On that special occasion, Kawasaki introduced one of its newest products, the Z H2. Kawasaki Z H2 is one of the new models that are the most eagerly awaited. The company did release the teaser of their new product and finally unrevealed a lot of the information from the naked bike.
After the release of the teaser, many thought that Kawasaki Z H2 was the naked version of H2 which had already been launched. There are several differences between the Kawasaki Z H2 with H2, such as the frame, engine specifications, and body design.
As for the design, the Kawasaki Z H2 has a sugomi design language, just like any other super naked Kawasaki Z. Asymmetrical supercharger intake channel and lamp design installed in the frame make a different impression.
The Kawasaki Z H2 is equipped with a TFT-LCD digital panel instrument cluster similar to the one used by the Kawasaki Ninja 650. In addition, it is also equipped with driving mode features, Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Cornering Management, and Power Modes.
About the features of the three modes on the Z H2, there are Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Rain, Rider), 3 Power Modes (full 197 hp, middle 147 hp, and low 98 hp).
Not quite up there, the Kawasaki Z H2 instrument cluster screen also contains a variety of menus ranging from Kawasaki Intelligent Anti Lock Brake Systems, launch controls, quick-shifter, cruise control, and smartphone connectivity.
As reported by the official release of the Japanese company, Kawasaki Z H2 is equipped with 998 cc engine specifications, four-cylinder DOHC 16V supercharged. On paper, the engine is capable of spraying power of 197 hp at 11,000 RPM and peak torque of 137 Nm at 8,500 RPM.
In terms of braking, the bikemaker paired the Brembo M4.32 Monobloc brakes with a disc diameter of 290 mm for the front wheels. While on the back, there is Nissin with twin-piston caliper and 226 mm discs.
The chassis features an entirely new trellis frame. It offers a more agile Kawasaki Z H2 handling and has a high rigidity to handle the big power of the supercharged engine.
The Kawasaki Z H2 has a length of 2,085 mm, width of 810 mm and a height of 1,130 mm. From ground level to seating reaches a distance of 830 mm. As for the tank capacity, this Kawasaki supercharged motor holds up to 19 liters of fuel.
Kawasaki Z H2 is offered in 3 color choices, namely Metallic Spark Black, Metallix Graphite Gray, and Mirror Coated Spark Black. Unfortunately, the official price is still unknown.
