The Swedish motorbike brand Husqvarna tried to take a step further in the era of EV (Electric Vehicle) by showing off the concept of their electric motorbike dubbed EE 5. This electric motorbike with the concept of an off-road vehicle has been exhibited at the EICMA Milan 2018 event.
From the outside, we can see that this motorbike is a tiny trail type. The Husqvarna electric motor is equivalent to a conventional gasoline-fueled motor with a 50 cc 4 stroke engine capacity. The EE 5 design is categorized as a speck of classic dirt or trail, which can be assessed directly when looking at its shape.
It is said, not just a mere form, stock specifications are ready to go down on the racing track. That’s because EE 5 is equipped with tires ready for off-road, large suspension, minimal body cover, mud protection, and exposed machine.
To support its off-road capability, this transmissionless motorbike is equipped with an XACT 35 mm suspension from WP and mono shock, also from WP. The seat height is also suitable for those who are new to learning motocross, which is 698 mm and can be reduced to 653 mm. Even lowering kits are available which reduce the height to 556 mm.
Husqvarna EE 5 is rumored to release in 2020. This eco-friendly trail bike is claimed to have a 5 kW battery power and is said to be able to drive for 2 hours. The battery used Husqvarna EE 5 is a Lithium-ion type (84 cells, 907 Wh).
For charging time the battery is also claimed to be fast, 80 percent in 45 minutes and to fully charge it takes 70 minutes, via an external charger. Although the motorbike is small, the Husqvarna EE 5 turns out to have been equipped with six driving modes, including an upside-down front suspension and rear air suspension.
