Richmond-based bicycle shop Classified Moto knows some things about making some of the best bikes that are as fascinating and useful as they are one of a kind and amusing to ride.
Now, the 2007 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 they warmly allude to as “Frank” gets added to the rundown. The bike with the real persona of Frankenstein engraved the gallery of the already stunning bike.
For the second year in a row, Rebel Yell Bourbon asked Classified Moto to build a motorcycle that would be presented at Sturgis, but this time around there was only a budget and no design stipulations.
The Real Frankenstein
Classified Moto chose to assemble the “Frank”-enstein with a mix of whatever they had accessible and a ton of custom work. Indeed, even after it’s unavoidably canvassed in earth and grime this bicycle will at present be a looker.
The tank has a complete not at all like anything the ‘speed triple’ has ever observed previously, with a delicacy differentiating the threatening position of the triumph. The company had never stripped a ‘speed triple’ tank, and regrettably, it found that this one was plastic.
Despite the radical looks, much of the bike remains stock: the hardest part was building a swing arm to accommodate the massive rear tire. The swing arm is now hooked up to a Progressive Suspension 465 Series shock and the wheel is a tough aluminum alloy ITP Hurricane
It’s shod with an STI Black Diamond tire—a six-ply ATV radial designed to work on both hardpack and sand or mud. Up front is Kenda Big Block rubber, an ADV tire with a 60% street/40% off-road mix.
The Hyperbeast
It’s proud, quick, and wonderfully brutish. The custom triumph is worked to draw out the best and most noticeably in individuals, as it drags them through a range of feelings — adore, seethe, doubt, appall, and fear.
Some will state that Classified Moto ruined a flawlessly decent bike to build Frank, while others get themselves frantically enamored with this custom bike, so which side are you on?
