Suzuki officially unveiled the 2022 GSX-S1000 globally last month. The rumor about the launch of the new-gen has long been discussed, and finally, through Suzuki’s official YouTube, the latest GSX-S1000 was introduced.
Design
The design transformation is very clever. The latest generation of the GSX-S1000 uses a projector LED divided into two upper and lower sides. The fascia looks aggressive with a minimalist DRL that is pinned at the top of the main light.
The side body, or rather in the shroud sector, has also altered using a side panel with a new design and a winglet claimed to be inspired by MotoGP.
The most striking difference, of course, is the bodywork it packed, which changes its appeal, especially with modern electronic embeds.
Engine
The engine still takes the base of the old model GSX-R1000 K5. It has only been developed slightly to decrease emissions without compromising performance.
Its roots may go back to 2005, but the K5 is widely considered to be the high point in the history of the GSX-R1000, so the engine is well kept. The result is that the 2022 GSX-S1000 has passed the Euro 5 emission test.
On the paper, the GSX-S1000 2021 is getting more horsepower than before, peaking at 150 hp. It spins louder, too, with peak power coming at 11,000 rpm.
Features
On the electronics side, it adopts an electronically controlled throttle (ride by wire), under the new names SIRS (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System) and SDMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector).
There is also a five-mode traction control system. All of this information is displayed on the updated instrument LCD. Also provided is an up and down Quickshifter, including a blipping throttle system for downward changes. This motorbike is also equipped with the Suzuki Easy Start System.
Price and Availability
Suzuki Motor Co., Ltd will officially market the brand-new GSX-S1000 to Europe and other countries around the world starting June 2021.
As for the price, the brand-new iron horse from Suzuki is priced at $ 15,190.28. The motorbike is available in three color choices; MotoGP-style blue and silver combo, gray and black versions.
